as far as i know mac does take the field in this one. Macintosh is usually sim ple to use and understand, and they pride themselves on thier multimedia prowress. if you can foot the bill for good mac-compatible software, its worth it. you also have a much smaller chance of something going wrong in the middle of a piece, like a random crash. That kind of thing is aggravating if you did alot and hadnt saved yet. for the record i dont favor one system over the other, this is just what ive read in the computer magazines.

I've been a pc user for most of my computing life which is about 14 years. When I started uploading my pictures onto the computer and started digital photography I tried atleast half a dozen or more different programs that delt with cataloging, editing and finishing but had to use several diffent ones to get the job done and the editing was a pain as well. I was using photoshop but on my system it took a while to load and would hang when it got too intensive. The came the day that I bought my first mac. a 12" powerbook G4. When I trasfered my photos over to my new mac I was blown away by iPhoto. it was everything I was looking for in a photo app. I still used photoshop but it worked a lot better and faster on my mac and to this day still does. I doubt that I will ever go back to a pc unless its absolutly nessisary, and in the 1 1/2 years that I've had it I never have.

I'm gunna go PC... and my reason will be the old joke.
DOS is like a Cessna. You take off buy you come down fairly soon thereafter. You never really get to high to hurt yourself when the engine cuts out though.
Windows is like a Saturn V rocket. You blast off into the sky at which point the engines cut out and you plummet to the earth in a firey mess.
Macs are like a luxury 747 where if you ask questions like "Where are we going?" "How high will we be flying?" "How long is the flight?", the only answer you get is "You don't need to know that."
Of course... Windows keeps acting more and more like the 747 to nowhere. But I'm just gunna sit quietly and love my linux machine.

I'm sure glad I wasn't an abortion. How about you?

Amen! Just wait and see vista though. Its very fun, and becoming more like a hybrid of Windows, Macs, and Linux. Im running the beta currently, and its a pretty awesome operating system. I would say linux owns all though. I set my computer to triple boot XP, Vista and Ubuntu. The ubuntu and vista actually surprised me though. I have been able to access one from the other and mess around with things. Im kinda afraid Im going to screw something up if I keep up with that, but oh well. I was wondering too, what linux do you run?
Actually... Ubuntu 6.06. I've also got Xp going. Using the XP for gaming at the moment...and that's about it. I'm toying with running a Virtual Machine and seeing how bad running something through a VM in Ubuntu is. I'm told its only a really minor speed loss.
I'll probably grab Vista at release (GRRRR) and ust it on my gaming system since there's stuff that's only going to be Vista supporting before too long (the new Halo I know will be, though that I haven't much desire for). :/ How are you liking it? I debated betaing Vista but I decided I didn't want to put up with it.
Vista is installed on NTFS I'm assuming? You can really mess stuff up playing around in there with Linux. I was reading an article on the Ubuntu site about how it could be done fairly easily to get read/write in NTFS instead of just read access, but its still really experimental.

I work for apple, and Macs would suck for what I use computers for (gaming mostly)
But Macs seem to be the prefered option of most graphic desgin places, my sister works as a graphic designer and has a mac... its pretty much their best use...

You know, vista is pretty cool, but I just deleted it. Yeah, it is NTFS still. Its kinda lame. Just as Macs went to unix for OSX, I think windows should go linux. Linux doesnt have to be free, or open source, so why not? Eh...if it was a perfect world. Funny thing about that ubuntu though...same version and everything here. Im loving it. Im currently trying to work out a problem when I download more apps through my synaptics thing. Its kinda frustrating.
